Vasilis Myriokefalitakis, Advisor of the Mayor-Department of European Projects

Naval Architect and Marine Engineer, graduate of the National Technical University of Athens. Holds a Master of Science Degree in Welding Technology awarded from Cranfield Institute of Technology. From 1994 to 2009 he worked in a large metal construction industry, both in production and in management positions. For the next year he worked as a laboratory associate at the Technological Educational Institute of Crete. Since 2011 is an Advisor to the Mayor of Rethymno with his direct involvement in planning issues of the Municipality. Responsible for the Interreg projects of the
Municipality of Rethymno: Med “Castwater” and “Incircle”, Europe “Plasteco” and member of the team that has implemented the Horizon 2020 project “Civitas-Destinations”. He also works on the “Covenant of Mayors” initiative as a member of the Energy Group of the Municipality as well as with environmental issues, emphasizing the fight against “Climate Change”. He is currently working on the Sustainable Development planning of the Municipality and more specifically with the elaboration of the Local Action Plan for the Circular Economy, the modification of the Local Action Plan for Waste Management and the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan.
