Robert Pressl, Senior Researcher and Project Manager

Robert Pressl is an expert on Mobility Management, Travel Awareness, Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP), Parking Management and Active Transport. He works as a consultant for city authorities and big transport generators, as well as for public transport organisations or schools, and as trainer to provide know how and capacity building. Heoccasionally also gives lectures at the University of Graz.

Robert Pressl (RP) has worked for 27 years for Austrian Mobility Research where he coordinated and participated in more than 40 EU projects incl. three of the big SUMP projects (ENDURANCE – 2013-2016, CIVITAS-PROSPERITY – 2016-2020 and CIVITAS SUMP PLUS – ongoing).
He was core-partner in the Civitas Park4SUMP project dealing with Parking Management in European Cities. The project followed the EU-funded PUSH&PULL parking project which was coordinated by RP. Within Park4SUMP he developed the ParkPAD (parking policy audit) approach which is a tool enabling municipalities to evaluate and improve the quality of their local on-street and off-street parking policy.
From 2007 – 2013 he coordinated the European Mobility Observatory Eltis to which he still contributes and for which he provides training sessions.Recently he worked together on the development of the Parking Strategy of Baku, Azerbaijan.
In the field of parking and mobility management he works as a trainer for municipality staff and produced a couple of good practice solutions video clips of policies and measures on sustainable urban mobility in cities and developed several brochures, manuals and handbooks.
