Ioannis Politis, Assistant Professor

Ioannis Politis holds a Phd Degree in Transportation Planning and Engineering. His expertise is on transportation engineering, mobility management, traffic psychology and sustainable modes of transport. Currently, he is Assistant Professor at the Civil Engineering Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. 

He is the author, or co-author of more than 170 research papers which have been published in international and national journals, books and conferences. 

He has been involved in various national and EU funded projects. Professionally, he has been involved in the study of large scale transport infrastructure projects, such as the feasibility study of the Thessaloniki Metro extension to the city of Kalamaria, the submerged tunnel of the city of Thessaloniki, the revenue estimation of Egnatia odos tolling system etc. Between 2010-2014, he served as an external advisor at Thessaloniki Public Transport Authority.
