Gary Armstrong, Training Manager, ECLF

Gary has been involved in the promotion and implementation of cargo bikes since 2011 and has extensive experience in both riding and using a wide range of cargo bikes and in the implementation of policy and training programmes for their introduction.
From 2011 to 2014 he was project manager/consultant representing Outspoken Delivery (the forerunner to Zedify) in the EU Cyclelogistics project which was aimed at promoting the use of cargo bikes. As part of this project he was instrumental in setting up the European Cycle Logistics Federation, a trade association for cargo bike operators across Europe.
From 2014 to 2018 he was the project manager for Outspoken Delivery in the EU Cyclelogistics Ahead project which built on the initial Cyclelogistics project and during this period developed and delivered workshops including “how to set up a cycle logistics business” and an empowerment workshop aimed at Municipalities and Local Authorities on how they can use and encourage others to use cargo bikes.

Since 2019, Gary has been the training manager for Zedify and has developed the training programme which all Zedify riders have to follow, and he has also trained all the Zedify depot managers on how to deliver the training programme locally. In addition, he is also the training manager for ECLF and continues to provide tailored cargo bike training for private and public sector organisations as well as individuals.
