Apart from his voluntary position as Secretary General of the International Society of city and Regional Planners (ISOCARP), Frank, in his capacity as sustainability planning expert, is advising local and national governments all over the world, often through the United Nations System. Frank drafted the handbook to implement the UN-Habitat Guidelines on Urban and Territorial Planning and has applied this handbook in several places including Kosovo, Palestine, Afghanistan, China, Japan, Caribbean, Belarus, Laos and more recently Gambia and Somalia. Frank is in charge of ISOCARP’s 58th World Planning Congress that will take place in Brussels in October 2022.
